Emirates SkyCargo is continuing to expand the global reach of British exports, transporting a wide range of goods—from fresh produce and pharmaceuticals to advanced engineering components—across its international network.
The carrier handled more than 57,000 tonnes of UK exports during FY 2025–26, representing an 11% year-on-year increase. Momentum has continued into 2026, with export volumes rising 7% between April and June compared with the same period last year.

Emirates SkyCargo operates more than 140 weekly widebody flights from eight UK gateways, including London Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh, providing strong global connectivity for exporters.
Aerospace and technology shipments accelerate
The UK’s aerospace and advanced engineering sectors remain key contributors to export growth. Between January and June 2026, Emirates SkyCargo transported over 570 tonnes of aircraft parts and components to international markets.
Demand for its Aircraft on Ground (AOG) service surged by more than 300% year-on-year, reflecting the need for fast, reliable logistics for critical aviation components.
The carrier also handled high-value technology shipments, including data centre equipment and servers, largely originating from manufacturing hubs around Manchester and London.
Life sciences sector shows strong demand
The UK’s life sciences industry continues to rely on Emirates SkyCargo for the movement of pharmaceuticals and medical products. In the first half of 2026, the airline transported more than 1,600 tonnes of pharmaceuticals and over 26 tonnes of clinical trial materials.
Newcastle plays a key role as a regional gateway, supporting the Northeast’s life sciences cluster and enabling rapid, temperature-controlled transport to global markets.
Perishables highlight British food exports
Emirates SkyCargo has also supported strong demand for British food exports. In the first half of 2026, the carrier transported over 1,500 tonnes of Scottish shellfish and more than 1,200 tonnes of smoked salmon worldwide.
More than 1,000 tonnes of food products were shipped to the UAE alone, including strawberries and cheese, demonstrating strong demand for premium British produce.

Expanding support across industries
Beyond core sectors, the carrier also supports the transport of luxury vehicles, fine art and consumer goods. Its Emirates Courier Express solution enables UK businesses to reach global customers through door-to-door delivery services.
In addition to commercial operations, Emirates SkyCargo continues to support environmental initiatives. Recently, it partnered with Dogs 4 Wildlife to transport conservation dogs from the UK to Zimbabwe, where they assist in protecting wildlife from poaching.
